Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs, if you prefer)
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce your favorite kind
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust for heat preference
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh cilantro optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the sauce:
  • In a small bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, chili powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir well until combined and set aside.
  • Cook the chicken:
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown on the outside.
  • Add the sauce:
  • Once the chicken is cooked, pour the sweet and spicy BBQ sauce over the chicken. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer, turning the chicken occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
  • Serve:
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh cilantro, if desired, and serve hot with your favorite sides!
