Ingredients
  

The Essentials:

  • 2 cups fresh raspberries or thawed frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice about 8–10 limes
  • ¾ –1 cup sugar or honey, agave, or maple syrup
  • 4 cups water still or sparkling
  • Ice as much as your heart desires

Optional Flavor Boosters:

  • Fresh herbs mint, basil, or rosemary
  • A pinch of Tajín or a slice of jalapeño for a spicy kick
  • A splash of vodka tequila, or Prosecco (for adult versions)
  • Fancy garnishes like edible flowers lime wheels, or fruit skewers

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mash the raspberries with a fork or potato masher until juicy. If you prefer a smoother drink, strain the mixture to remove seeds.
  • Squeeze fresh limes and add the juice to the raspberries. If you like extra zing, zest a lime into the mix.
  • In a saucepan or microwave, dissolve sugar in 1 cup of warm water to create a simple syrup. Let it cool, then mix it into the raspberry-lime mixture. (Or stir sugar directly into cold water—it just takes longer to dissolve!)
  • Pour in the remaining water and stir well. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors meld, or serve immediately over ice.
  • For a fizzy twist, swap still water for sparkling water just before serving.

Notes

No raspberries? Swap in strawberries, blackberries, or even a mix of berries.
Too tart? Add a pinch of baking soda to neutralize acidity.
Want it slushy? Blend with ice for a frozen limeade treat.
Make it ahead: Store in the fridge for up to 3 days. If separation occurs, just stir before serving.
Use the leftover pulp: Mix it into yogurt, oatmeal, or pancake batter.
