One-Pan Sausage & Rice Skillet

A quick and easy one-pan meal featuring savory sausage, fluffy rice, and veggies, all simmered together for a flavor-packed dinner. Perfect for busy nights!

Ingredients
  

Cook the Sausage:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned 5-7 mins. Remove and set aside.

Sauté the Veggies:

  • In the same skillet cook onion and bell pepper until softened (5 mins).
  • Stir in garlic paprika, and thyme. Cook 1 more minute.

Cook the Rice:

  • Add rice stirring to coat. Pour in broth, return sausage to the pan, and add frozen peas.
  • Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes (no peeking!).

Cheese It Up:

  • Fluff rice with a fork season to taste. Sprinkle cheese on top, cover, and let melt.

Notes

  • If rice is too crunchy, add ¼ cup broth and cook 5 more minutes.
  • Swap sausage for ground beef, shrimp, or tofu.
  • For extra flavor, stir in a splash of soy sauce or hot sauce.
