One Pan Cajun Dirty Orzo

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup dry orzo pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef or chicken/turkey
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 small green bell pepper diced
  • 1 small red bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning or more
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 2 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Prep Ingredients: Chop onion, peppers, garlic, and green onions.
  • Brown Meat: Heat olive oil, cook ground meat until browned (5–7 min).
  • Cook Veggies: Add onion, peppers, garlic. Sauté 3–4 min.
  • Season: Stir in Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Toast Orzo: Add orzo, stir to coat and lightly toast.
  • Add Liquids: Pour in broth and tomatoes. Stir and bring to simmer.
  • Simmer: Cover and cook on low 12–15 min, stirring once or twice.
  • Finish: Check texture. Garnish with green onions and parsley. Serve hot!
