Total Time 25 minutes mins
- 1 loaf of Italian bread or French baguette
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3 cloves garlic minced (or more if you’re a garlic lover!)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
Prepare the garlic butter:
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano. Stir until well combined.
Slice the bread:
Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. If you prefer smaller pieces, slice it into individual pieces after buttering.
Spread the garlic butter:
Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on both halves of the bread. Make sure to cover the bread evenly from edge to edge.
Top with cheese:
Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the buttered bread.
Bake:
Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley for a pop of color. Serve warm and enjoy!
- If you don’t have Italian bread or a baguette, feel free to use any other type of bread you like. Sourdough or ciabatta are also fantastic options!
- For extra cheesy goodness, you can load up on cheese—more mozzarella never hurts!
