Baked Apple Fritters

Healthier baked apple fritters with cinnamon-spiced apples and a soft, fluffy texture. No frying required!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 large apples peeled and chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  • Toss apples with lemon juice.
  • In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, butter, and vanilla.
  • Mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in apples.
  • Drop ¼-cup batter mounds onto the sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes.
  • Cool 5 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and serve.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container for 2 days or freeze for 1 month.
  • Gluten-Free: Use 1:1 GF flour.
